Lyrics: Compass

Start with abandon

Mud-stained boots in foreign woods

Cracked-needle compass

North's all but where you once stood

Start with a blindfold

Touch all the things you can’t yet see

Release your chokehold

Breathe out your finest poetry

You’re not deluded

The path’s confusing

The road does wind and bend through chaos and relief

And end with peace

Westward’s a shoreline

They say that’s where growth plays

But cracked-needle compass

Spins south and east and right ways

Control’s a peacock wing

Sure pride that leads you to dust

Chase the surprising

Chase all that leads you to trust

Don’t be deluded

The path’s amusing

The road will wind and bend through valleys, over peaks

And end with seas

Don’t mind where steps are traced

Just keep moving forward

Don’t mind you don’t know what you’re heading toward

Don’t mind the change, oh darling, don't mind the change, oh darling, don’t mind the change

Cracked-needle compass

Spins south and east and right ways

Cracked-needle compass

Spins south and east and right ways
